We, at The Queenz Of Media , have noticed very intense battles being waged on “The Internets” surrounding a most important cultural and socioeconomic phenomenon. Many of you may assume I am talking about the current global economic crisis which is pitting the haves against the have-nots that led to ”The Petiole Revolution,” otherwise known as Occupy Wall Street. Some of you may believe I am talking about the battle to regulate the internet with legislation (SOPA) that will fundamentally change our online habits and suppress the freedom we have all enjoyed on the internet. If those are the issues you think I am talking about , well, you must have your head in the sand, they are trivial to say the least. I’m talking about REAL issues here, I’m talking about The Real Housewives on Bravo Bitches!
All the individual housewives seem to have teams, teams that many times have no limits to the extent they will go when confronting another “team.” Most of the battles revolve around; Who’s the realest, Who’s the richest, Who’s the shadiest, Who’s the Sluttiest Prostitution WHOOOWAH!, Who did who wrong, and of course, Who’s Boobs are real , and who’s aren’t.
Now, with all that being said, The Queenz Of Media have decided to lay it on the line, and once and for all, answer the most prolific question of our life time, “Who’s The Best Real Housewife Of All Time?” How are we going to do this you ask? Well, We are having a Real Housewives Super Bowl Showdown, a battle that you, the readers, get to decide who wins by voting below.
First we are doing the playoffs, where you get to vote for your favorite Housewife of each franchise. Voting in the Playoffs will end at 11:59 pm Sunday January 22nd. The Winners from each of the casts will be announced on Monday January 23rd. Then The real battle will begin, All the teams will need to pump up their twitter steroids and make sure their jock straps are super secure , because each of the Playoff winners will be pit against each other for the undisputed title of ”The Best Real Housewife Of ALLLLL TIME.” Voting for the Championship will start on January 23rd and end Saturday February 4th at 11:59pm. The Winner will be announced during The Super Bowl Half Time on February 5th
NOW GET TO VOTING!
( You can vote for each category more than once, but you must first clear your cookies in between voting)
Update : Due To Extreme Voting Irregularities (a hand full of people voting literally thousands of times to skew the results) We are extending voting until Tomorrow Afternoon, i have also changed the polldaddy settings to block multiple votes based on IP addresses, I didn’t suspect people would violate the spirit of this contest!

Everyday I get several emails from TS women filled with questions concering their transition. The questions asked are almost always the same; (in order of frequency)
1. Where can I get hormones?
2. What hormones are the best?
3. What dosage do I take?
4. Hair removal, laser or electrolysis?
5. What do you think about silicone injections?
6. Who’s the best doctor for facial feminization surgery ?
7. How much does facial feminization surgery cost?
8. Will they “let me make payments?”
9. Have you had Sex Reassignment Surgery? (srs)
10. Which doctor would you suggest for SRS?
11. How much does it cost
The common denominator of the questions above is cost. The price of transitioning is the biggest obstacle for every transsexual woman. It effects our lives in ways most people don’t realize. Many Ts women are forced to resort to desperate and drastic measures funding their transition. Ts women often get stuck in the margins of society as a result; due to the difficulties in finding employment while transitioning many Ts women end up in the sex industry, or participating in other illegal industries, not just to pay for their transition, but to survive. Gainfully employed Ts women with medical insurance also find that funding their transition is the number 1 obstacle to affirming their lives. Due to these financial obstacles many Ts women will resort to cheap black market “procedures” (silicone injections), that put their lives at great risks, or they will seek medical treatment in third world countries where medical regulations, that reduce risks, are either very low , or non existent.
This is a link to our show concerning the dangers of freely injected silicone, with one of the nations leading cosmetic surgeons, Dr. Samir Shureih . Dr. Shureih, is also one of the leading experts on freely injected silicone.
Many of you are probably expecting me to answer the frequently asked questions listed, I prefer to do that privately because the appropriate advice varies on the individual. So, what’s the point of this posting? The point is to hopefully gain some empathy, NOT sympathy, from non trans people who are not aware of how the costs of transitioning effect our lives beyond just financially. Too many ts women have died trying to affirm their lives, and it’s time we collectively figure out a way to ease these financial burdens.
Some of you may think these procedures are simply elective and not essential, and you would be wrong, very wrong. What many call cosmetic, we call essential. Facial feminization surgery greatly increases the opportunities for TS women to become functioning and contributing members of society. Many Ts women reverse the order of what is essential to them, putting SRS at the top of the list of questions, and for those Ts women life will not be affirmed or worth living to them unless they get SRS. The psychological effect of not being able to complete one’s transition, no matter what “completion” means to each individual Ts woman, is devastating.
With all of that said, I want to share with you a very creative way in which one TS woman is trying to fund her life affirming surgical procedures. Her name is Lindsay Stone, she is a fully employed, and very talented graphic/web designer. She has created an online fundraiser. She isn’t asking for charity, or a hand out, she is offering her artistic and technical services in exchange for a donation. I assure you the donation amount is at a greatly reduced price for what you would pay for some of her services. This is the link to her fundraiser, and a video which further details Lindsay’s journey.
I hope that this will inspire other women transitioning to creatively offer their talents, or services (LEGAL!) in an effort to fund their transition and complete their lives.
1. I was wrong for believing that Israel Luna genuinely supported the Transsexual community.
2. I was wrong for believing Israel’s motivation behind the film “Ticked Off Trannies With Knives” was to empower the Transsexual community.
3. I was wrong for being a sucker and putting myself on the front lines defending Israel’s character and intentions.
4. I was wrong for dismissing legitimate concerns from rational and valued friends who objected to the content of “Ticked Off Trannies With Knives”.
Let the chorus of a thousand Transsexuals begin;
“I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO, I TOLD YOU SO!”
Now that I got those painful admissions out of the way, let me start by saying; This is not written with glee. It is written with disappointment. I like Israel Luna (very much), and I still fully support the right for his movie to be seen, and voice to be heard. Hopefully this will enlighten and encourage his thoughts on the issues concerning the Transsexual Community to evolve, and in the process redeem his character in my eyes (if he even values my opinion).
Thursday afternoon as I was plotting The Queenz Of Media’s future domination of the planet (go ahead and laugh), I decided to turn off Judge Judy and instead listen to Israel Luna’s online radio show on RationalBroadcasting.org, called “The 10%”. I listened and giggled for the first 8 minutes and 44 seconds of the show as they memorialized Elizabeth Taylor. Then the discussion took a very sharp turn to a topic about a recent lawsuit against NYC by three trans citizens: Joann Prinzivalli, Patricia Harrington, and Sam Berkly, who is a female To male Transsexual. The lawsuit is an effort to change the policy in NYC that prevents Transsexual people who have transitioned with out opting for sexual reassignment surgery to have their birth documentation changed.
(to read the full story about this law suit click the link below)
The factual debate over this topic is legitimate, and reasonable people can disagree while maintaining their personal integrity. Unfortunately, that is not the discussion that took place between Israel Luna, and his guest hosts, John De Los Santos and Allyn Carrell. John De Los Santos is a gay ballerina and Allyn Carrell is an actress who has appeared in gay themed films. ( I used the word “ballerina” for a reason that will make sense in a moment)
Before I discuss the vulgar conversation that took place between Israel and his guests, let me lay out the rational and factual reasons behind this law suit and the need for REAL Transsexual people, like me, who don’t opt for SRS to have our Identification and birth documentation changed.
1. This need is not an effort to “revise history” or erase our past, it is to correct history and realize our future. Despite the comments made in the video conversation above, we do not “choose” to be transsexual, just like gay men don’t choose to be homosexual. There are extensive ground breaking scientific studies and preliminary results showing that Transsexualism is inherent genetically and neurologically. The following links are articles further explaining the groundbreaking research and results:
One more time. If we are born this way, we aren’t revising our birth history we are correcting it.
2. Without this correction taking place, the ability for Transsexual women and men to become contributing members of society is greatly limited. Employment and education are the great equalizers in our society. Transsexual women are the most marginalized citizens in our country when it comes to obtaining both, and in many cases, it’s because our identification and birth documentation do not line up with our visible gender. Denying these corrections will only prevent Transsexual people from realizing their future and full equality in our society. I would think this point would be common sense to most.
3. Yes, John De Los Santos, Transsexual people like to obtain passports and travel abroad with out being put through humiliating scrutiny, or denied access on a plane because we are told “you are not allowed to wear a disguise on an airplane”. That’s right, many trans people have been turned away because their required identification did not match their visible gender.
4. It is NOT unprecedented to have this information changed. Every state and many localities have varying policies regarding this matter. The complications surrounding this particular law suit have to do with not having surgery to alter your genitalia. Many if not most Transsexual women do not have SRS , some desire it, other’s don’t. The lack of surgical status does not alter our genetic predisposition nor our visible gender. It especially does not invalidate our “realness” as Transsexual women.
a. General guidelines currently used when changing your birth documentation from Andrea James’ extremely informational site TSROADMAP.COM.
This is the perfect time to get into details of the ignorant, factually inaccurate, and offensive discussion that took place on Israel’s show.
I ask you to please watch the video again and pay close attention to these key phrases ,and especially the expressions of the person speaking (pay close attention to Miss De Los Santos).
1. “I don’t agree with her” by John De Los santos
2. ”I think i’m with you” by Israel Luna
3. ”Other than what, getting a passport (snarky spitting sound) What Does It Matter?” by John De Los Santos
4. “No matter what kind of surgeries she’s had, no matter what she wears, or who she’s in a relationship with, You used to be a MAN, you were born a MAN. by John De Los Santos
5. ”Sorry Charlie, I don’t agree with that” by John De los Santos
6. ”I don’t think she’ll win that though” by John De Los Santos
7. “You’d like to think she wouldn’t” by Allyn Carrell
8. *sound of disgust* by John De Los Santos
9. ”I don”t know her situation, IT REALLY DOESN’T MATTER, I don’t agree with that” by John De Los Santos *blank stare* by me.
10. ”Snowballing into a lot of other stuff” by John De Los Santos (interesting choice of words)
11. ”We’re getting to be a LITTLE more open minded to these transgender issues” by Israel Luna (thanks for being a little more open minded)
12. ”silliness” by Allyn Carrell
13.”she needs to get over it, she needs to get over it” by John De Los Santos
14. “She lives in a country where she can have her sex change, and be legally recognized as the sex she CHOOSES, and live the life she CHOOSES, THAT’S ENOUGH”.
15. “Right” by Israel luna
16. “I can’t say that’s enough because I’m Not fighting for it, but that’s Ridiculous” by John De Los Santos
17. “She hasn’t technically had the surgery yet” by Israel luna (notice John De Los Santos extraordinary look of disgust)
18. “She sees her self as a woman” by Israel Luna
19. “Well She’s Crazy,(laughter) Sorry that’s NUTTY,” by John De Los Santos (notice a pattern here)
20. “Obscene” by the producer off camera comparing our life to the lies and distortions of George W. Bush. *blank stare*
21. “She isn’t even a true Transgender yet” by the one and only John De Los Santos.
Most if not all of the above quotes from the video discussion have been and are currently being used against the Gay community to marginalize them and prevent them from gaining equality in this country, where you can legally have sex and “snowball” semen or vaginal fluid with someone of the same sex. Now the gay community has co-opted those ignorant talking points to marginalize the Transsexual community. I ask, isn’t that enough? What more do you want? Now you want to get married? This could potentially SNOWBALL into incestuous marriages and the legalization of pedophilia. You’re not a real man! You have a swish, a lisp, you wear tights and a tutu as you pirouette and plie’ across a stage. One more time, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT…GET OVER IT.
Since dropping , the Screaming Underground EP has been downloaded over 10,000 times. Listening to the album this weekend, it’s easy to understand why: the emotions explored in this 6-track EP are universal; anyone who has ever felt a little nuts, a little horny or a little fed up will find a advocate in these songs.
Screaming Underground is the 4th album from singer/songwriter/producer Charlie Demos. Compared to his other albums, the first one released in 2004, Screaming Underground is leaps and bounds riskier, edgier, and angrier. In his eponymous debut, Charlie sang about love and finding that special person. In his last album, Anatomy I, he explored gender and sexuality and began his journey into the electroclash sound that has fuller expression on this new EP. Inspired by artists like Peaches and Trent Rexnor, Charlie carves out a new sound; at times as ghoulish and as dark as Mr Reznor ever wanted to be, but with a slight dance inflection and as musical as a trained vocalist ought to be.
For Charlie, the EP is both and expression and a confirmation of the horror of the human experience and specifically his own experience as an artist; what we think and feel and know are not always pretty and palatable. Charlie would like us to shut the fuck up and get sexy and angry in the dark with him.
FUCK ME/FUCK U
The EP begins with a scathing indictment of the entertainment industry machine. Blisteringly short, we are brought into the soundscape of Screaming Underground with a punch to the face.
Underground
The first single off this EP, Underground explores the grey and murky regions of the psyche; the lines between love, lust and madness. In this piece, the monster is the hero- in acknowledging the terrifying truth of his emotions, he is the righteous one, saved by his bravery in facing the ugliness inside us all.
Masterbate
In Masterbate, Charlie takes on intellectual dishonesty and creative stagnancy. He rejects the mediocrity he sees in other artists that may achieve more commercial success by playing to the industry; in this song it’s tantamount to whoredom.
Half Alive
In Half Alive, Charlie again visits the bottom of the emotional well, rifling through the unpleasant thoughts we all have in those dark lonely moments. His skillful vibrato, features here at the end of the song in a skittering, manic rap- like the middle of a panic attack, when thoughts are racing through the mind at top speed.
Nocturnal Emission
Singing as if from the bottom of a watery grave, Charlie comes to a final embrace with the dark sensuality and half-madness that flows through the EP. Seducing us down into the dark like a ghoulish siren, he asks us to “let go… and open wide”. We must come explore the beautiful inner world, “much more [beautiful] than outside.” Despite the pain of this self-discovery, it is the ugly truth that must be embraced.
GET WET
The EP finishes with Get Wet, an open invite to play, now that the raw and real truth of the self has been revealed. The feeling here is not love, but it’s just as powerful. A free acknowledgement of the often less-altruistic motivations that drive us, GET WET wants us all to cut loose, live it up and dive in.

I recently attended the “work in progress” screening of the documentary “Lost in the crowd” directed by Susi Graf. It was a magical, truly unforgettable evening in which film took a giant stride in dispelling ridiculously antiquated thought forms relating to, and existing within, the LGBT community.
Charlie Demos and Laverne Cox on the red carpet at the screening of Lost In The Crowd
I met Laverne Cox upon entering the theater. A truly stunning presence, Ms. Cox is well spoken, intelligent, with equal amounts of grace, poise and glamour. While discussing the gaping disconnect within the LGBT community in regards to transsexual people, Laverne and I got the red carpet interviews rolling in the right direction. Often, Mainstream media inundates, both the heteronormative majority and the LGBT minorities, with depictions of transsexuals as the lowest class. Their identities are presented as neither here nor there, burlesquing their ability to thrive in society and often showcasing transsexuals as prostitutes.
Charlie and Randolfe Wicker
I soon found myself as an extemporaneous Barbara Walters of sorts, interviewing the guests in attendance, provoking them to reveal what they hoped to gain from viewing this film whilst pointing out my personal agenda for the LGBT community, an agenda of INCLUSION- acceptance of the entire gamut of what LGBT really means. Pointing out and aggressively questioning, the undercurrent of misogyny that runs rampant within the minds of the LGBT community is a necessary conversation point. My interview was received quite well and I must point out this audience was a myriad of different people. LGBT, Straight, Young, old, white, black, Asian and everyone in between.
The Q&A session Featuring Laverne Cox, Susi Graf (the director) and Jazmine who is prominently featured in the film and also a success story
The profundity of this film’s exposure of the LGBT youth homeless community is wrenching. As I watched these courageous individuals tell their stories, I realized the overall theme of this documentary is humanity’s struggle (individually and collectively) to uncover identity and purpose in the world. I couldn’t wrap my head around how these dynamic, bright, shining human beings were rejected by their families, and discarded from mainstream society. In the final scenes, however, Lost in the Crowd ended on an upbeat note showing how many of the people worked their way off the streets and now have full time jobs and apartments of their own, a place to call home; This was a message of hope, the measure and triumph of the human will.
Javier Ninja and Benny Ninja Performing at the screening of Lost In The Crowd
The performance by the House of Ninja directly following the screening was particularly poignant. Benny Ninja and his family of creative spirits paid tribute to the iconic Willi Ninja, whom is also featured in this film. The impact of Mr. Ninja’s work within the community was tremendous. Equal parts mother, father, sage, and healer. Willi Ninja’s enlightened approach to life translated on screen as a transformative, inspirational celebration of life.
Charlie, Laverne and The Legendary House Of Ninja on the red carpet of Lost In The Crowd
I went into this screening hoping to gain a deeper understanding of the LGBT homeless community and I received so much more. I was granted the opportunity and pleasure to connect to a group of strong, dynamic beautiful spirits; people who were nurtured and empowered by the immensely compassionate Susi Graf.

The 12th Annual Q Cinema Film Festival was an all-around entertaining experience for me. I had never been to Ft Worth, TX before so I didn’t know what to expect. I assumed it wasn’t much different than Dallas since they were so close together, but upon arrival I was greeted with a festive Tex-Mex atmosphere; which I didn’t remember being as apparent in Dallas. I arrived a little late, so I rushed to the showing of Ticked-Off Trannies with Knives. I made it just in time to be wisped to my front row seat by Todd Camp, the festival’s Artistic Director.
From start to finish the film was a roller-coaster ride of witty comedy, grind-house gore, with of course a heap of transsexual edge and a dash of show girl sarcasm. The film lived up to it’s reputation with over-the- top- violence that was dare I say “Offensive”, not the kind of offensiveness being peddled by the protesters but the kind of offensiveness necessary for this genre’. Without the offensive and graphic nature of the hate crime that was depicted at the start of the film the audience would not have been able to embrace the victims as heroines on their dark journey of revenge. This is why those that have seen the film in it’s entirety get the message and those protesting based on the impression of a 3 minute and 34 second trailer are severely off base. Those of you protesting have a moral obligation to see this film, because you have a responsibility to know what you are protesting in order to educate the public accurately! Those of you conflicted about seeing this film should base your decion on personal tastes; Do you like gory movies? Do you like campy humor? And Most importantly , Do you like HOT TRANNIES? If so, then this movie is for you! If you consider yourself an honorary member of the PC POLICE, then avoid this movie at all costs!
After the film, the cast minus Erica Andrews and Kelexis Davenport…(shade the house down boots?) proceeded to have a Q&A session with the audience. Through the questioning, they laughed, joked, and talked about the experience and controversy. The look in their eyes filled the stage with warmth, leaving us with the impression that their journey was fulfilling even through all the ups and surprising downs.
When the Q&A session was finished, it was time to party! After all, this was Saturday night. The cast and audience all met up at The Rainbow Lounge. Like the name suggests, this was a colorful atmosphere. There were go-go dancers of all genders (and I do mean all genders), friendly waiters of the same variety, and four different bars (2 on the inside and 2 on the outside patio). I ordered a few cocktails and began to mingle and watch the people have fun. I had planned to interview director Israel Luna at the party but I decided against it. This was his hometown premiere full of fans and clouded with protesters. I did not want to spoil the fun by stuffing a camera in his face. To my surprise, before the night was over Israel sent one of his friends to tell me that he wanted to talk to me before I left which made this black girl blush! How special is that?… We talked off the record about the movie, my thoughts, and future plans of a sequel that he playfully calls a ”tranquel.” I suggested his new movie be called “Whinny Trannies with Signs.” Nevertheless, I could tell that this was his night and he was the belle of the ball.
Q.O.M. Special Correspondent Diamond Stylz, Anonymous Twink, and Meiko Love from TeaTime
Sunday morning (maybe it was afternoon… blame the cocktails), I woke up and headed back to the Rose Marine Theater to enjoy the rest of the festival. As I walked up to the entrance, I saw chalk outlines of dead bodies like you would see at old homicide crime scenes. I didn’t notice them the night before because instead of looking like bodies, they looked more like children’s scribble scrabble. The sun allowed me to see that they had MISSPELLED names of slain hate crime victims next to them. This was a demoralizing and insensitive ploy by the protesters in an attempt to bring attention to their claim that Ticked-off Trannies with Knives exploited the victims’ legacies. Inside the theatre, the environment was more artistic. The walls of the theater were covered by beautiful artwork from local artists that you just can’t help but appreciate. I proceeded to ”Trans Talk”, an open forum intended to construct a dialogue about the controversy of Ticked-off Trannies with Knives. Ironically, as vocal as the protesters were outside the theater, none of them showed up to actually discuss their concerns like civil people do. Luckily there was some opposition in the crowd which allowed for a great discussion. The TransTalk was the most fulfilling part of the whole trip.
After the Trans Talk, I had the opportunity to see a romantic comedy called Is It Just Me directed by J.C. Calciano. About two roommates, one a hot over sexed hunk and the other a Plain Jane average guy, that gets entangled in an internet romance filled with switched identities and funny gay wit that will surely leave you with a smile on your face.
The Q Cinema Film festival’s art director, Todd Camp, really chose great films to showcase this year. I can’t wait to see what is chosen next year.
